First Home Visit

We have our first home visit scheduled - finally! It will be Friday, July 30th at 6:30 p.m. and will take 2-4 hours. We are soooo excited! Now we await another packets of papers that should be coming in the mail for us to fill out as part of the home visit study. Vicki is staring to see forms and papers in her sleep!

The Costs

An Ethiopian Adoption can cost up to $25,000.00, which is actually one of the least expensive international adoption costs.

*Home Study fees start at $1500.00. Home Studies are required for both domestic and international adoptions

*Other fees - Application fees, International program fees, Dossier Notary/Authentication, International fingerprinting, Humanitarian Aid, Child's Visa, our Visas, for criminal/child abuse background checks from all the states we've lived in, physicals for the whole family, travel immunizations, etc.

*Travel fees - Ethiopian Government requires that prospective adoptive parents take 2 trips to Ethiopia, each lasting approximately one week

This is where we trust that because God has undeniably laid it on our hearts to adopt an Ethiopian orphan, He WILL provide all that is needed for us to fulfill that call.
